ܬܫܒܘܚܬܐ ܕܕܘܝܕ ܘܐܡܪ ܕܘܝܕ ܠܡܪܝܐ ܡ̈ܠܐ ܕܬܫܒܘܚܬܐ ܗܕܐ ܒܝܘܡܐ ܕܦܨܝܗ ܡܪܝܐ ܡܢ ܐܝܕܐ ܕܒ̈ܥܠܕܒܒܘܗܝ ܘܡܢ ܐܝܕܗ ܕܫܐܘܠ

David spoke to Yahweh the words of this song in the day that Yahweh delivered him out of the hand of all his enemies, and out of the hand of Saul,

ܘܐܡܪ ܐܪܚܡܟ ܡܪܝܐ ܚܝܠܝ ܘܬܘܟܠܢܝ ܡܪܝܐ ܥܘܫܢܝ ܘܒܝܬ ܓܘܣܝ ܘܡܦܨܝܢܝ
wmptsyny gwsy wbyth ewshny mry' wthwklny khyly mry' 'rkhmk w'mr
and he said: “Yahweh is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer, even mine;

ܐܠܗܐ ܬܩܝܦܐ ܕܣܒܪܝ ܒܗ ܡܣܝܥܢܝ ܘܩܪܢܐ ܕܦܘܪܩܢܝ ܘܒܝܬ ܓܘܣܝ ܘܡܦܨܝܢܝ ܡܢ ܥܘ̈ܠܐ ܘܦܪܘܩܝ
wprwqy ewl' mn wmptsyny gwsy wbyth dpwrqny wqrn' msyeny bh dsbry thqyp' 'lh'
God is my rock in whom I take refuge; my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge. My savior, you save me from violence.

ܡܫܒܚܐ ܐܩܪܐ ܠܡܪܝܐ ܘܡܢ ܒ̈ܥܠܕܒܒܝ ܐܬܦܪܩ
'thprq beldbby wmn lmry' 'qr' mshbkh'
I call on Yahweh, who is worthy to be praised; So shall I be saved from my enemies.

ܡܛܠ ܕܚܕܪ̈ܘܢܝ ܚܒ̈ܠܐ ܕܡܘܬܐ ܘܕ̈ܓܠܬܐ ܕܥܘ̈ܠܐ ܕܠܚܢܝ
dlkhny dewl' wdglth' dmwth' khbl' dkhdrwny mTl
For the waves of death surrounded me. The floods of ungodliness made me afraid.

ܚ̈ܒܠܐ ܕܫܝܘܠ ܟܪܟܘܢܝ ܘܩܕܡܘܢܝ ܦܚ̈ܐ ܕܡܘܬܐ
dmwth' pkh' wqdmwny krkwny dshywl khbl'
The cords of Sheol were around me. The snares of death caught me.

ܒܐܘܠܨܢܝ ܩܪܝܬ ܠܡܪܝܐ ܘܠܘܬ ܐܠܗܝ ܓܥܝܬ ܘܫܡܥ ܩܠܝ ܡܢ ܗܝܟܠܗ ܘܓܥܬܝ ܩܕܡܘܗܝ ܥܠܬ ܒܐ̈ܕܢܘܗܝ
b'dnwhy elth qdmwhy wgethy hyklh mn qly wshme geyth 'lhy wlwth lmry' qryth b'wltsny
In my distress, I called on Yahweh. Yes, I called to my God. He heard my voice out of his temple. My cry came into his ears.

ܐܬܕܠܚܬ ܘܙܥܬ ܐܪܥܐ ܘܫܬ̈ܐܣܐ ܕܛܘܪ̈ܐ ܙܥ ܘܐܬܬܠܚ ܡܛܠ ܕܐܬܚܡܬ ܥܠܝܗܘܢ
elyhwn d'thkhmth mTl w'ththlkh ze dTwr' wshth's' 're' wzeth 'thdlkhth
Then the earth shook and trembled. The foundations of heaven quaked and were shaken, because he was angry.

ܠܩ ܬܢܢܐ ܒܪܘܓܙܗ ܘܢܘܪܐ ܡܢ ܦܪܨܘܦܗ ܐܬܓܘܙܠܬ ܘܓܘܡܪ̈ܐ ܚ̈ܒܢ ܡܢܗ
mnh khbn wgwmr' 'thgwzlth prtswph mn wnwr' brwgzh thnn' lq
Smoke went up out of his nostrils. Consuming fire came out of his mouth. Coals were kindled by it.

ܘܨܠܐ ܫܡܝܐ ܘܢܚܬ ܘܥܪܦܠܐ ܬܚܝܬ ܪ̈ܓܠܘܗܝ

He bowed the heavens also, and came down. Thick darkness was under his feet.

ܪܟܒ ܥܠ ܟܪ̈ܘܒܐ ܘܦܪܚ ܘܛܣ ܥܠ ܟܢ̈ܦܐ ܕܪܘܚܐ
drwkh' knp' el wTs wprkh krwb' el rkb
He rode on a cherub, and flew. Yes, he was seen on the wings of the wind.

ܘܥܒܕ ܚܫܘܟܐ ܠܓܢܝܗ ܘܟܪܟܗ ܡܛܠܠܗ ܚܫܘܟܐ ܕܡ̈ܝܐ ܒܥܢ̈ܢܐ ܕܐܐܪ
d''r benn' dmy' khshwk' mTllh wkrkh lgnyh khshwk' webd
He made darkness a shelter around himself, gathering of waters, and thick clouds of the skies.

ܡܢ ܙܗܪܐ ܕܡܛܠܠܗ ܥܒܕ ܥܢ̈ܢܘܗܝ ܒܪܕܐ ܘܓܘܡܪ̈ܐ ܕܢܘܪܐ
dnwr' wgwmr' brd' ennwhy ebd dmTllh zhr' mn
At the brightness before him, coals of fire were kindled.

ܘܪܥܡ ܒܫܡܝܐ ܡܪܝܐ ܘܥܠܝܐ ܝܗܒ ܩܠܗ ܒܪܕܐ ܘܓܘܡܪ̈ܐ ܕܢܘܪܐ
dnwr' wgwmr' brd' qlh yhb wely' mry' bshmy' wrem
Yahweh thundered from heaven. The Most High uttered his voice.

ܫܕܪ ܓܐܪ̈ܘܗܝ ܘܒܕܪ ܐܢܘܢ ܘܒܪ̈ܩܐ ܐܣܓܝ ܘܕܠܚ ܐܢܘܢ
'nwn wdlkh 'sgy wbrq' 'nwn wbdr g'rwhy shdr
He sent out arrows and scattered them, lightning and confused them.

ܘܐܬܚܙܝܘ ܡܒ̈ܘܥܐ ܕܡ̈ܝܐ ܘܐܬܓܠܝ ܫܬܐ̈ܣܝܗ̇ ܕܬܒܝܠ ܡܢ ܟܐܬܟ ܡܪܝܐ ܘܡܢ ܢܫܡܬܐ ܕܪܘܚܐ ܕܪܘܓܙܟ
drwgzk drwkh' nshmth' wmn mry' k'thk mn dthbyl shth'syh w'thgly dmy' mbwe' w'thkhzyw
Then the channels of the sea appeared. The foundations of the world were laid bare by Yahweh’s rebuke, at the blast of the breath of his nostrils.

ܫܕܪ ܡܢ ܡܪܘܡܐ ܘܕܒܪܢܝ ܘܫܠܢܝ ܡܢ ܡ̈ܝܐ ܣܓ̈ܝܐܐ
sgy'' my' mn wshlny wdbrny mrwm' mn shdr
He sent from on high and he took me. He drew me out of many waters.

ܘܦܨܝܢܝ ܡܢ ܒ̈ܥܠܕܒܒܝ ܥܫ̈ܝܢܐ ܘܡܢ ܣ̈ܢܐܝ ܕܥܫܢܘ ܡܢܝ
mny deshnw sn'y wmn eshyn' beldbby mn wptsyny
He delivered me from my strong enemy, from those who hated me, for they were too mighty for me.

ܘܩܕܡܘܢܝ ܒܝܘܡܐ ܕܐܘܠܨܢܝ ܘܗܘܐ ܠܝ ܡܪܝܐ ܡܣܝܥܢܐ
msyen' mry' ly whw' d'wltsny bywm' wqdmwny
They came on me in the day of my calamity, but Yahweh was my support.

ܘܐܦܩܢܝ ܠܐܪܘܚܬܐ ܘܦܨܝܢܝ ܡܛܠ ܕܨܒܐ ܒܝ
by dtsb' mTl wptsyny l'rwkhth' w'pqny
He also brought me out into a large place. He delivered me, because he delighted in me.

ܘܦܪܥܢܝ ܡܪܝܐ ܐܝܟ ܙܕܝܩܘܬܝ ܘܐܝܟ ܕܟܝܘܬܐ ܕܐܝܕܝ ܦܢܝ ܠܝ
ly pny d'ydy dkywth' w'yk zdyqwthy 'yk mry' wpreny
Yahweh rewarded me according to my righteousness. He rewarded me according to the cleanness of my hands.

ܡܛܠ ܕܢܛܪܬ ܐܘܪ̈ܚܬܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܘܠܐ ܐܬܡܪܕܬ ܡܢ ܐܠܗܝ
'lhy mn 'thmrdth wl' dmry' 'wrkhthh dnTrth mTl
For I have kept Yahweh’s ways, and have not wickedly departed from my God.

ܡܛܠ ܕܟܠܗܘܢ ܕܝܢ̈ܘܗܝ ܠܘܩܒܠܝ ܘܢܡܘܣ̈ܘܗܝ ܠܐ ܐܥܒܪܬ ܡܢܝ
mny 'ebrth l' wnmwswhy lwqbly dynwhy dklhwn mTl
For all his ordinances were before me. As for his statutes, I didn’t depart from them.

ܘܗܘܝܬ ܥܡܗ ܕܠܐ ܡܘܡ ܘܐܙܕܗܪܬ ܡܢ ܚ̈ܛܗܐ
khTh' mn w'zdhrth mwm dl' emh whwyth
I was also perfect toward him. I kept myself from my iniquity.

ܘܦܪܥܢܝ ܡܪܝܐ ܐܝܟ ܙܕܝܩܘܬܝ ܘܐܝܟ ܕܟܝܘܬܐ ܕܐ̈ܝܕܝ ܠܘܩܒܠ ܥܝܢ̈ܘܗܝ
eynwhy lwqbl d'ydy dkywth' w'yk zdyqwthy 'yk mry' wpreny
Therefore Yahweh has rewarded me according to my righteousness, According to my cleanness in his eyesight.

ܥܡ ܛܒܐ ܬܗܘܐ ܛܒܐ ܘܥܡ ܓܒܪܐ ܬܡܝܡܐ ܬܗܘܐ ܬܡܝܡ
thmym thhw' thmym' gbr' wem Tb' thhw' Tb' em
With the merciful you will show yourself merciful. With the perfect man you will show yourself perfect.

ܘܥܡ ܓܒܝܐ ܬܗܘܐ ܓܒܐ ܘܥܡ ܥܩܝܡܐ ܬܬܥܩܡ
ththeqm eqym' wem gb' thhw' gby' wem
With the pure you will show yourself pure. With the crooked you will show yourself shrewd.

ܡܛܠ ܕܐܢܬ ܥܡܐ ܡܣܟܢܐ ܬܦܪܘܩ ܘܥܝ̈ܢܐ ܪ̈ܡܬܐ ܬܡܟܟ
thmkk rmth' weyn' thprwq mskn' em' d'nth mTl
You will save the afflicted people, but your eyes are on the arrogant, that you may bring them down.

ܐܢܬ ܬܢܗܪ ܫܪܓܝ ܡܪܝܐ ܐܠܗܝ ܢܢܗܪ ܚܫܘܟܝ
khshwky nnhr 'lhy mry' shrgy thnhr 'nth
For you are my lamp, Yahweh. Yahweh will light up my darkness.

ܡܛܠ ܕܒܟ ܐܪܗܛ ܥܠ ܓܝܣܐ ܘܒܐܠܗܝ ܐܩܘܙ ܫܘܪܐ
shwr' 'qwz wb'lhy gys' el 'rhT dbk mTl
For by you, I run against a troop. By my God, I leap over a wall.

ܐܠܗܐ ܕܕܠܐ ܡܘܡ ܐܘܪܚܗ ܡܐܡܪܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܒܩܐ ܘܡܥܕܪ ܠܟܘܠ ܕܬܟܝܠܝܢ ܥܠܘܗܝ
elwhy dthkylyn lkwl wmedr bq' dmry' m'mrh 'wrkhh mwm ddl' 'lh'
As for God, his way is perfect. Yahweh’s word is tested. He is a shield to all those who take refuge in him.

ܡܛܠ ܕܠܝܬ ܐܠܗܐ ܠܒܪ ܡܢ ܡܪܝܐ ܘܠܝܬ ܕܬܩܝܦ ܐܠܐ ܐܢ ܐܠܗܢ
'lhn 'n 'l' dthqyp wlyth mry' mn lbr 'lh' dlyth mTl
For who is God, besides Yahweh? Who is a rock, besides our God?

ܐܠܗܐ ܕܚܙܩܢܝ ܚܝܠܐ ܘܝܗܒ ܕܠܐ ܡܘܡ ܐܘܪܚܝ
'wrkhy mwm dl' wyhb khyl' dkhzqny 'lh'
God is my strong fortress. He makes my way perfect.

ܥܒܕ ܪ̈ܓܠܝ ܐܝܟ ܕܐܝܠܐ ܘܥܠ ܪܘܡܝ ܐܩܝܡܢܝ
'qymny rwmy wel d'yl' 'yk rgly ebd
He makes his feet like hinds’ feet, and sets me on my high places.

ܐܠܦ ܐ̈ܝܕܝ ܠܩܪܒܐ ܘܫܪܪ ܐܝܟ ܩܫܬܐ ܕܢܚܫܐ ܕܪ̈ܥܝ
drey dnkhsh' qshth' 'yk wshrr lqrb' 'ydy 'lp
He teaches my hands to war, so that my arms bend a bow of bronze.

ܘܝܗܒܬ ܠܝ ܣܟܪܐ ܕܦܘܪܩܢܐ ܝܡܝܢܟ ܬܣܝܥܢܝ ܘܡܘܟܟܟ ܢܪܒܝܢܝ
nrbyny wmwkkk thsyeny ymynk dpwrqn' skr' ly wyhbth
You have also given me the shield of your salvation. Your gentleness has made me great.

ܐܪܘܚܬ ܦܣܥ̈ܬܝ ܬܚ̈ܘܬܝ ܕܠܐ ܢܙܘܥܘܢ ܩܘܪ̈ܨܠܝ
qwrtsly nzwewn dl' thkhwthy psethy 'rwkhth
You have enlarged my steps under me. My feet have not slipped.

ܐܪܕܘܦ ܒ̈ܥܠܕܒܒܝ ܘܐܕܪܟ ܐܢܘܢ ܘܠܐ ܐܗܦܘܟ ܥܕܡܐ ܕܐܓܡܪ ܐܢܘܢ
'nwn d'gmr edm' 'hpwk wl' 'nwn w'drk beldbby 'rdwp
I have pursued my enemies and destroyed them. I didn’t turn again until they were consumed.

ܐܡܚܐ ܐܢܘܢ ܘܠܐ ܢܫܟܚܘܢ ܠܡܩܡ ܘܢܦܠܘܢ ܬܚܝܬ ܪ̈ܓܠܝ
rgly thkhyth wnplwn lmqm nshkkhwn wl' 'nwn 'mkh'
I have consumed them, and struck them through, so that they can’t arise. Yes, they have fallen under my feet.

ܬܚܙܩܢܝ ܚܝܠܐ ܒܩܪܒܐ ܘܬܒܪܟ ܠܕܩܝܡܝܢ ܥܠܝ ܬܚܘܬܝ
thkhwthy ely ldqymyn wthbrk bqrb' khyl' thkhzqny
For you have armed me with strength for the battle. You have subdued under me those who rose up against me.

ܘܩܕܠܗܘܢ ܕܒ̈ܥܠܕܒܒܝ ܐܦܢܝܬ ܠܝ ܘܠܣ̈ܢܐܝ ܐܫܬܩ ܐܢܘܢ
'nwn 'shthq wlsn'y ly 'pnyth dbeldbby wqdlhwn
You have also made my enemies turn their backs to me, that I might cut off those who hate me.

ܢܓܥܘܢ ܠܘܬ ܡܪܝܐ ܘܠܐ ܢܗܘܐ ܠܗܘܢ ܦܪܘܩܐ ܘܢܒܥܘܢ ܡܢ ܡܪܝܐ ܘܠܐ ܢܥܢܐ ܐܢܘܢ
'nwn nen' wl' mry' mn wnbewn prwq' lhwn nhw' wl' mry' lwth ngewn
They looked, but there was no one to save; even to Yahweh, but he didn’t answer them.

ܐܫܚܘܩ ܐܢܘܢ ܐܝܟ ܥܦܪܐ ܥܠ ܐ̈ܦܝ ܪܘܚܐ ܘܐܝܟ ܣܝܢܐ ܕܫ̈ܘܩܐ ܐܕܘܫ ܐܢܘܢ
'nwn 'dwsh dshwq' syn' w'yk rwkh' 'py el epr' 'yk 'nwn 'shkhwq
Then I beat them as small as the dust of the earth. I crushed them as the mire of the streets, and spread them abroad.

ܬܦܠܛܢܝ ܡܢ ܕܝܢܘܗ̈ܝ ܕܥܡܐ ܘܬܥܒܕܢܝ ܪܝܫܐ ܠܥܡ̈ܡܐ ܥܡܐ ܕܠܐ ܝܕܥܬ ܢܦܠܚܘܢܢܝ
nplkhwnny ydeth dl' em' lemm' rysh' wthebdny dem' dynwhy mn thplTny
You also have delivered me from the strivings of my people. You have kept me to be the head of the nations. A people whom I have not known will serve me.

ܘܡܫܡܥ ܐܕܢܐ ܢܫܡܥܘܢܢܝ ܒܢ̈ܝܐ ܢܘܟܪ̈ܝܐ ܢܫܬܥܒܕܘܢ ܠܝ
ly nshthebdwn nwkry' bny' nshmewnny 'dn' wmshme
The foreigners will submit themselves to me. As soon as they hear of me, they will obey me.

ܒܢ̈ܝܐ ܢܘܟܪ̈ܝܐ ܢܬܟܠܘܢ ܘܢܬܚܓܪܘܢ ܡܢ ܫܒ̈ܝܠܝܗܘܢ
shbylyhwn mn wnthkhgrwn nthklwn nwkry' bny'
The foreigners will fade away, and will come trembling out of their close places.

ܚܝ ܗܘ ܐܠܗܐ ܘܒܪܝܟ ܗܘ ܡܚܝܠܢܝ ܘܐܬܬܪܝܡ ܐܠܗܐ ܦܪܘܩܝ
prwqy 'lh' w'ththrym mkhylny hw wbryk 'lh' hw khy
Yahweh lives! Blessed be my rock! Exalted be God, the rock of my salvation,

ܐܠܗܐ ܕܝܗܒ ܠܝ ܬܒܥܬܐ ܘܫܥܒܕ ܠܥܡ̈ܡܐ ܬܚ̈ܘܬܝ
thkhwthy lemm' wshebd thbeth' ly dyhb 'lh'
even the God who executes vengeance for me, who brings down peoples under me,

ܘܡܦܨܝܢܝ ܡܢ ܒ̈ܥܠܕܒܒܝ ܘܐܦ ܡܢ ܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܩܝܡܝܢ ܥܠܝ ܬܪܝܡܢܝ ܘܡܢ ܓܒܪ̈ܐ ܥܘ̈ܠܐ ܬܦܨܝܢܝ
thptsyny ewl' gbr' wmn thrymny ely dqymyn 'ylyn mn w'p beldbby mn wmptsyny
who brings me away from my enemies. Yes, you lift me up above those who rise up against me. You deliver me from the violent man.

ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܐܘܕܐ ܠܟ ܒܝܬ ܥܡܡ̈ܐ ܡܪܝ ܘܠܫܡܟ ܐܙܡܪ
'zmr wlshmk mry emm' byth lk 'wd' hn' mTl
Therefore I will give thanks to you, Yahweh, among the nations, and will sing praises to your name.

ܡܘܪܒ ܦܘܪܩܢܐ ܕܡܠܟܗ ܘܥܒܕ ܛܝܒܘܬܐ ܠܡܫܝܚܗ ܠܕܘܝܕ ܘܠܙܪܥܗ ܥܕܡܐ ܠܥܠܡ
lelm edm' wlzreh ldwyd lmshykhh Tybwth' webd dmlkh pwrqn' mwrb
He gives great deliverance to his king, and shows loving kindness to his anointed, to David and to his offspring, forever more.”
